A Trip to the UP

Andy had two disaster response trainings in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan this past week; so, Caleb and I went along - a family road trip! :)  While we didn't travel too far (at most 3 hours at any given time), Caleb did a great job in the car and enjoyed watching the trees and trucks pass by.

 Enjoying breakfast in bed; in a king-size bed nonetheless.  Caleb really did enjoy this 'huge' bed.  So, did we when Caleb wouldn't sleep Sunday night and joined us in bed :)

 Caleb is no longer a fan of swings.  But the teeter-totter is his new favorite.

 Caleb was not a fan of this piece of playground equiment.  But, he did like watching his dad try it out ;)

Lunch at the Pasty House.  A pasty is a baked pastry, filled with meat and potatoes.  My mom makes these (thanks to my grandma's recipe) so I knew what they were - which was a good thing since it was the only place to stop at and eat lunch.  I was surprised by how many pasty restaurants there were in the U.P.!  (On a side note: the pasty was good but not as great as my mom's are!)

All in all it was a great time and a great time to spend as family.  However, it's always good to be back home and back in the routine of things...Now it's time to get things organized and cleaned up before baby comes.  Ah, back to real life.
