Caleb's Growing and Learning!

Caleb is a very active boy lately and is up to a lot of new things. So, I thought I'd share an update.

• Caleb is able to sit up with support.  He can balance for a few seconds on his own but he is still top heavy so the upper-half of his body often folds down towards the ground.
• He is 'talking' a lot more.  I especially like this in the morning when I get to wake up to his 'talking' instead of his crying.
• Caleb is beginning to know what he wants.  This is especially evident when he plays with toys or when you give him options of toys to play with.
• He is on the move!  Not crawling yet but he is able to get most places by rotating on his stomach and rolling.  For the most part, if a toy is out of reach (and within reason) Caleb is able to roll and rotate to get it.  It really is amazing to see!  He is getting up on his knees and pushing up on his hands - he just needs to figure out how to put the two together in order to start crawling.  While I will be excited at this milestone, it is nice to not have to worry about his mobility quite yet.
• Caleb enjoys playing 'peek-a-boo'.  He especially likes to be covered with a burp cloth, blanket, towel, etc.  - we then ask "Caleb, where are you?" and he pulls of the cloth with a great smile when he sees us.
• Sleeping through the night - it depends on your definition.  According to what I have read, 'sleep through the night' is when the baby sleeps at least 5 hours.  By that definition, yes, Caleb is sleeping through the night on most nights.  He has slept 8 to 10 hours every once in a while.  Since he has been teething and starting solids, his sleep patterns have changed a little. 
• Lots of smiling and giggling!
• Caleb's legs are almost always on the move.  Even when he is on his tummy playing, one leg is usually moving up and down, tapping the floor.  The legs moving sometimes causes him to roll over at less than desired times - for instance, when changing his diaper or getting him undressed for bath time.

It's amazing to think how much Caleb has grown and changed in the last 6 months - and that 6 months have already passed!  It continues to be a joy to be around Caleb ~ especially when he is smiling and happy!
